The Hose Is Unwieldy
"It's very difficult to get this hose attached to the carrier and it doesn't lay flat and smooth as shown in the videos. Apparently the material needs to warm-up (per customer service)."
The most durable, reliable garden hose on the market.
An ultra-strong polyurethane cover (same material as inline roller skate wheels) delivers unmatched durability and resilience against abrasions, cuts, punctures, tears, and even dog bites.
The revolutionary construction and characteristics of an ELEY polyurethane hose typically cause it to flip out of a loop rather than collapse into a kink.
Even if kinked, ELEY hose has “zero kink memory,” meaning it will not keep kinking in the same place repeatedly over time.
Amazingly lightweight, ELEY hose is up to 2 times lighter than rubber hose while remaining 3 times stronger than many leading brands.
Many hoses use internally restrictive fittings that reduce water flow. ELEY’s proprietary fittings deliver a true full 5/8-inch flow path for maximum water output.
Manufactured using high-quality materials, including durable polyurethane hose and lead-free brass fittings. Materials are carefully selected to support durability, performance, and drinking water contact.
Manufactured from a single, solid piece of high-quality forged brass, ELEY lead-free fittings are designed for crush-proof durability and long-lasting performance. Precision-machined threads help maintain a reliable, water-tight connection.
The ultra-strong polyurethane cover is latex-free and non-marking, helping protect sensitive skin and finished surfaces like boat decking and hardwood floors.

Polyurethane material is inherently resistant to mold and mildew growth, delivering better durability in damp environments and humid conditions.

Manufactured in our Nevada facility, ELEY uses advanced technology and precision manufacturing processes to produce some of the highest-quality and most durable garden hoses available.
In this short, 2-minute video, co-founder and VP of Design & Engineering, Craig Eley explains why we chose to make our hose from polyurethane material and how our unique processes makes it the most durable and reliable garden hose on the market.
Not sure how long of a hose you need? Avoid the hassle and expense of having to return a hose that is either too long or too short. Watch this short video to find out how to take just a couple of minutes to determine the correct length of hose needed for your particular application. The step distance of a person of average height is 2-1/2 feet.
It is better and safer to be a little too long than too short.
ELEY hoses are equipped with crush-proof, full-flow, lead-free brass fittings for long-term durability, reliable performance, and a dependable connection.
Because most outdoor spigots and watering tools are also brass, it’s the ideal material match.
Unlike aluminum fittings commonly found on lower-grade hoses, ELEY’s lead-free brass fittings help prevent galvanic corrosion — a battery-like reaction that can cause fittings to seize together over time. The brass-to-brass connection helps keep threads smooth, reliable, and easy to remove.

Water pressure (PSI) and flow rate (GPM) at the end of a garden hose depend on several factors, including hose length, your home’s water supply pressure, plumbing size, and the type of watering tools being used.
ELEY garden hoses have a 5/8-inch inside diameter, which provides strong, consistent water flow for most residential and professional watering applications. For most home and garden uses, this size delivers more than enough pressure and flow for effective watering, cleaning, and general outdoor use.
Yes. ELEY garden hoses are manufactured using high-quality materials commonly used in applications involving drinking water contact. The hose is constructed from durable polyurethane materials and features lead-free brass fittings that comply with federal lead-free standards.

ELEY polyurethane garden hoses are available with a 5/8-inch inside diameter (ID).
This size provides an ideal balance of water flow, flexibility, weight, and durability, making it the most common and practical choice for residential and professional watering applications.
Yes. All ELEY garden hoses use standard ¾-inch Garden Hose Thread (GHT), making them compatible with nearly all hose reels, sprinklers, nozzles, and watering tools sold in North America.
Tip: Avoid connecting brass fittings to aluminum fittings, as this can cause galvanic corrosion over time.
No. You do not need a separate connector to join two ELEY garden hoses.
All ELEY hoses use standard ¾-inch Garden Hose Thread (GHT) fittings, allowing you to connect them directly—just like any standard garden hose. This also means ELEY hoses can be connected to most non-ELEY hoses, reels, and watering tools that use standard GHT fittings.
Simply screw the male end of one hose into the female end of the other to extend your total hose length.
Tip: Avoid connecting brass fittings to aluminum fittings, as this can cause galvanic corrosion over time.
ELEY garden hoses use standard ¾-inch Garden Hose Thread (GHT) fittings, making them compatible with most hose reels, nozzles, sprinklers, and watering tools used throughout the USA and Canada.
For best results, we recommend using brass, stainless steel, or nickel-plated fittings.
Tip: Avoid connecting aluminum fittings to brass, as this can cause galvanic corrosion over time.
Yes. ELEY garden hose fittings can be replaced or modified using an ELEY Hose Repair Kit.
This allows you to repair a damaged hose or configure custom connections, such as installing the same fitting type on both ends.
For step-by-step instructions and compatible components, see our Hose Repair Kit page.
Garden Hose Thread (GHT) is the standard connection used for outdoor watering products such as hoses, reels, sprinklers, and nozzles. National Pipe Thread (NPT) is used for plumbing and pipe fittings.
Although both may be labeled as ¾-inch, GHT and NPT use different thread designs and are not compatible with each other.
No. Standard hose washers from most hardware stores are not designed to fit ELEY hose fittings correctly.
Because the diameter is slightly different, a typical washer may not seat properly and can shift out of place, leading to leaks.
For a secure, long-lasting seal, we recommend using ELEY O-ring style washers (sold in a 12-pack), which are specifically designed to fit our hose fittings.

Yes. As hose length increases, both water flow (GPM) and pressure (PSI) will decrease—but in many cases, the difference is small and may not be noticeable.
For a 5/8-inch garden hose, water flow typically decreases by about 0.01 GPM per foot of hose:
Hose length also affects pressure. For every foot of hose, pressure decreases by approximately 0.1 PSI:
In most cases, the watering tool (such as a sprinkler or nozzle) has a greater impact on flow than hose length. Reduced pressure over longer distances may slightly decrease sprinkler range or spray distance, but for most home and garden use, even longer hose lengths still provide sufficient pressure and flow for effective watering.

Yes. ELEY garden hoses are designed to be highly kink-resistant during normal use, even when bent or looped.
This is achieved through a combination of advanced materials and construction, including polyurethane with low “kink memory” and reinforced, uniform wall thickness that helps prevent flattening and weak points.
For a deeper explanation, see: What Makes A Garden Hose Kink-Resistant?
ELEY polyurethane garden hoses remain highly flexible, even in cold temperatures down to -40°F (-40°C). Unlike PVC or vinyl hoses, they do not stiffen or become difficult to handle in cold weather.
The bend radius of the 5/8-inch hose is approximately 3.5 inches, allowing for tight turns without kinking.
Despite this flexibility, ELEY hoses are also highly kink-resistant due to the properties of polyurethane and their reinforced construction.

Yes. ELEY garden hoses are designed to perform reliably in extreme heat, including hot, sunny climates like the desert Southwest.
The polyurethane material provides excellent resistance to heat and UV exposure, helping maintain flexibility and durability even with prolonged sun exposure. The hose is rated for temperatures up to 165°Fand a maximum working pressure of 150 PSI.
While burst pressure decreases with rising temperature, the hose is engineered with a significant safety margin. At 75°F, the minimum burst pressure is 450 PSI—three times the maximum working pressure.
Over time, extended sun exposure may cause some exterior discoloration, but this does not affect the hose’s performance, flexibility, texture, or strength. It does not become sticky or squishy, even in the hottest environments.
Yes. ELEY garden hoses are UV-resistant and engineered for long-term outdoor use.
A UV stabilizer is added to the outer layer of the hose to help protect against sun exposure and slow UV-related wear. While extended exposure may cause some minor exterior color fading over time, it does not impact the hose’s durability or performance.
Yes. ELEY polyurethane garden hoses are rated for temperatures up to 165°F.
As temperature increases, operate at reduced working pressure. Avoid kinking or crushing the hose, keep it away from external dry-heat sources, and allow it to cool before tightly coiling or storing.
Yes. ELEY garden hoses can be used on the water supply (inlet) side of a pressure washer, as long as the inlet uses a standard 3/4-inch Garden Hose Thread (GHT) connection.
However, ELEY hoses should not be used on the high-pressure output side of a pressure washer.
Yes. ELEY garden hoses are compatible with walking and traveling tractor-type sprinklers.
With an outside diameter of 0.875 inches (22 mm), the hose works well with most major brands, including National Walking, Orbit, Nelson, Underhill, and Kees.
Additionally, tractor sprinklers with expandable front wheels can travel over hose connections, including those joined with ELEY quick connectors.
Check out this traveling sprinkler over ELEY hose fittings video to see it in action.
No. ELEY polyurethane garden hoses are not designed for applications where the hose remains under constant pressure.
ELEY hoses are intended for typical outdoor watering use, where pressure is turned on and off as needed.
For safety and long-term reliability, hoses used in continuous-pressure applications—such as washing machine supply lines—are specifically designed and tested for that purpose and should be used instead.
No. ELEY garden hoses are not designed for suction or pump intake applications and may collapse under vacuum.
For these uses, a hose specifically rated for vacuum or suction should be used instead.
Yes. Heat tape can be used as long as the temperature does not exceed 150°F (65°C).
Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for the heat tape and avoid exceeding this temperature to prevent damage.

"It's very difficult to get this hose attached to the carrier and it doesn't lay flat and smooth as shown in the videos. Apparently the material needs to warm-up (per customer service)."
"It’s only been a week but so far, I love this hose. The connections are solid and feel very durable. Brass of course. My previous hose welded onto the faucet with calcium deposits on the aluminum connector but brass doesn’t do that. It’s also fairly light weight compared to rubber. Looking forward to a long future life with this hose."
"This hose is tied to a float and timer to keep my swimming pool water level. It’s on most of the day and of course it’s needs to tough enough to be outdoors all year long. While it’s too soon to tell based upon other reviews I’m sure this hose will do absolutely fine. I purchased a 125 foot long hose. While laying it out it kinked a few times but the kinks came completely out without any damage whatsoever to the hose."
"When I picked up the box the hose was shipped in I thought I was shipped the wrong product. It was so much lighter than I had expected. The length was right and the feel of the hose indicated quality. The connectors are solid , well made, and easy to thread. I am sure I made the right choice in purchasing my Eley hose. I will recommend all my friends also purchase one."
"I just received and started to use this hose. The first thing I noted was that the fittings are of better quality and threads cut nicely. They are also nicely bonded to the hose in a secure fashion. I am not sure about increased flow but the flow is certainly adequate. My only regret is that I should have ordered a 75 foot length instead of 50 ft. It does not appear to kink and the material has a nice feel. Only time will tell how it will hold up. No more bargain store hose for me."
"Second purchase of an Eley hose. I went for the 75 footer this time. Very satisfied with the overall quality, lightweight design and the quality of the fittings. They are the best hoses fittings and attachments I have found. I wish they made and sold hose bibs given the quality as their brass fittings and attachments."
"I already had one lead hose and loved it, so I ordered two more. I like to place them at the end if my garden hose with a turn off adapter. That way I don’t need to walk all the way back to the faucet. It makes it very convenient to adjust the sprinkler. I find the quality and length to be outstanding! I felt the price was fair."
"Already returned before I ever used it. I searched the internet for a garden hose compatible with box type hole reels and Eley hoses was the top suggestion along with Flexilla. The Eley hose is the worst possible choice because it acts like a spring being wound too tight. It just refuses to wind up properly because of its design and material. The Eley hose might work with an Eley hose reel, but it definitely didn't work for a normal box type reel you're going to find at a local hardware store."
"Freakishly superior to all other hoses! I got my first Eley 2 years ago and have been gradually converting all my hoses to Eleys since then. 2 years in, they look and feel brand new. Lightweight, never a kink or a leak, easy to coil, hardware holding up well. These are expensive but WORTH IT in terms of both functionality and endurance/ quality."
"A hose is not just a hose. This hose is amazing! Don’t have to deal with kinks and twists. Fittings are very high quality and easy to use. Rolls up great on our Eley reel as one would expect. Well worth the premium price for this premium hose."
