Warranty Coverage

  • Reels & Watering Tools

    • Eley Corporation (hereafter referred to as the "warrantor") guarantees its proprietary hose reels and watering tools, and their related components and parts, unless otherwise specified, to be free from defect, malfunction, or failure in material or workmanship, under normal use and service, for 10 years.  All warranty periods start from the purchase invoice date. The warranty covers the replacement of the defective component, not the entire unit.  

    • ELEY hose reels and watering tools are designed and intended for outdoor use only and are not designed or intended to remain under constant water pressure. Water pressure must be shut off at the source after each use.

  • Hose

    • Warrantor guarantees its polyurethane garden hose to be free from defects, malfunctions, or failures in materials or workmanship under normal use and service for 10 years.  

    • ELEY garden hose is designed and intended for outdoor use only and is not designed or intended to remain under constant water pressure. Water pressure must be shut off at the source after each use.

    • Discoloration or fading of the exterior cover is a natural occurrence due to long-term exposure to the sun’s UV rays and is specifically excluded from this warranty.

    • Failure due to an external force applied to the hose cover — including, but not limited to, chewing from dogs, rodents, or any other animal; lawnmower blades; long-term rubbing against rough or sharp surfaces; or contact with spinning hose reel flanges — is also excluded.

    • Warranty coverage does not extend to damage or failure caused by an improper modification, incorrect installation, misuse of the ELEY Hose Fitting Repair Tool, third-party fittings or repair components, or any modification performed contrary to ELEY’s published instructions. The installation of non-ELEY fittings or repair components, or other unauthorized alterations to the hose, may void warranty coverage for damage or failure resulting from that modification.

  • Paint

    • Warrantor guarantees that its powder-coat paint will not bubble, crack, or peel under normal use and service for 1 year (12 months). Fading of the paint is a natural occurrence due to long-term exposure to the sun's UV rays and is specifically excluded from this warranty.  Warrantor recommends that products located within close proximity of a saltwater shoreline be systematically freshwater-rinsed (at least annually) to prevent the accumulation of salt deposits. Warrantor also recommends additional protection from the effects of salt air by keeping the reel covered with an ELEY Hose Reel Cover when not in use. Warranty Exclusions

  1. This warranty does not cover corrosion or corrosion-related damage caused by water conditions, environmental exposure, salt air, humidity, mineral deposits, chlorides, chemicals, corrosive contaminants, or contact between incompatible materials.
  2. Warranty does not cover leaks caused by the use of acids, harsh chemicals, or mineral deposits.
  3. Warranty does not apply when products are used beyond normal use and service, beyond their rated capacities or intended design functions, for indoor applications, or under other abnormal operating conditions. ELEY products are designed and intended for outdoor use only.
  4. This warranty does not cover damage, leakage, failure, or accelerated wear resulting from leaving a hose, hose reel, watering tool, valve, fitting, or other component under constant water pressure. Water pressure must be shut off at the source after each use.
  5. Warranty does not cover any product failure or damage resulting from hose reels mounted or secured to any vehicle or trailer designed to travel on roads or highways. Under no circumstances should ELEY hose reels be used for any over-the-road applications.
  6. Corrosion, oxidation, tarnish, patina, and dezincification are not defects in materials or workmanship when they result from environmental exposure, water conditions, chemical exposure, or other external corrosive conditions. This includes brown, dark, green, blue-green, pink, or salmon-colored discoloration that may develop on brass components.
  7. Warranty does not apply to normal wear-and-tear components, such as O-ring gaskets.
  8. The fading or discoloration of products from the sun's UV rays is expressly excluded from this warranty.
  9. Galvanic corrosion caused by direct contact between dissimilar metals—such as an aluminum fitting connected to a brass fitting on an ELEY product—is specifically excluded from this warranty. This includes corrosion that causes fittings to seize, fuse, bind, or become difficult or impossible to separate.
  10. This warranty does not cover damage that occurs during shipment, failures caused by products not supplied by the warrantor, or failures resulting from accidents, mishandling, faulty installation, freezing, misuse or misapplication, neglect, or abuse, including dogs or rodents chewing on the hose.
  11. This warranty is void if the product or any component has been tampered with, altered, or repaired in a manner not authorized by the warrantor. An ELEY garden hose that is cut and modified using the ELEY Hose Fitting Repair Tool and genuine ELEY hose fittings, in accordance with ELEY’s published instructions, is an authorized modification and remains covered under the original hose warranty, subject to all applicable warranty terms and exclusions.
  12. This warranty does not cover loss, failure, or damage resulting from natural disasters or severe weather events, including, but not limited to, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, lightning, fires, heavy snow, ice storms, extreme cold, or other events beyond the warrantor’s reasonable control.
  13. The warrantor covers the replacement or credit of defective parts only and does not allow for field labor charges for removal, installation, analysis, or travel expenses.
  14. This warranty covers eligible ELEY products and components only and does not cover incidental, consequential, or secondary damage to other property resulting from a leak, failure, malfunction, or inability to use an ELEY product. This includes, but is not limited to, water damage, flooding, and damage to buildings, structures, flooring, walls, landscaping, personal property, or other property, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the warrantor or its suppliers be liable for any incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to the use, failure, malfunction, leakage, or inability to use any ELEY product, including, but not limited to, water damage, flooding, damage to buildings or structures, landscaping, personal property, or other property.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

The warrantor and its suppliers disclaim all other express or implied warranties. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Is Warranty Registration Required?

No. You do not need to register your ELEY products for warranty coverage. When you purchase directly from ELEY, we retain the purchase information needed to help verify warranty eligibility.

Was your ELEY product a gift? The order will be associated with the original purchaser’s information. To add the gift recipient’s contact information, please complete our Gifted Warranty Registration Form. Registration is not required for warranty coverage.

Warranty Support for Customers in Canada & U.S. Territories

Although ELEY does not sell or ship new products directly to Canada, eligible warranty replacement parts may be shipped to customers in Canada and U.S. territories.

For an approved warranty claim, you may choose to have eligible replacement parts shipped:

  • Directly to Canada or a U.S. territory. You are responsible for shipping costs and any applicable duties, taxes, customs fees, brokerage fees, or other import-related charges.

  • To an eligible address in the contiguous United States, including an address near the Canadian border. You are responsible for retrieving the shipment and arranging any further transportation or import, including all related costs and requirements.

All other terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions of this Warranty Policy remain in effect. To request warranty support, follow the steps below.
